When I was looking at CD Japan for the Econeco coloring book, another cute book caught my eye. It’s a dress up sticker book for girls, with some great illustrations:
It turned out that the book is designed by Manamoko from Japan. She also sells handmade products such as rosette badgets, buttons and stickers to visitors worldwide! You can find them in her Fancy Surprise webshop.
Follow Manamoko at Pixiv or Instagram.
About a year ago I stumbled upon this picture of a beautiful wool felted rabbit. I instantly fell head over heels for the retro style with soft colours. Luckily a little Google-detective-work revealed the artists: Ribo -a.k.a. Ribonetta- from Japan.
As a child Ribo was always carrying around color pencils, a sketchbook and her stuffed toys. One of the first craft projects that she made was a bear out of felt. And that’s where it all started. Ribo has been making wool felted animals since 2010. Her love for antique toys really shows through in her creations. (source)
Those fluffy weird looking cats just crack me up (^_^)
I had high hopes for the book that Ribo released, with DIY wool felt animals projects. But according to the reviews on Amazon Japan it is certainly not suited for beginners. So for now I’ll stick to Ribo’s Instagram and blog, which are a delight to look at!
