Earlier this year I was happy to hear that Japan Lover Me had been setting up a shop. Their Japanese items will be unique, limited or hard to find and true to the Japan Lover Me style. Later on they’ll also hope to sell their own original products. When Kaila asked for kawaii bloggers to write about the store, I jumped to the opportunity and applied. It came as a big surprise to find out that I had been picked as one of their first bloggers!
Kaila said that I could pick one of the kawaii lootsies to review. It was a bit tough to decide between the Rilakkuma plushies and My Little Twin Stars Unicorn, but given my slight obsession for cute kitchenware this Hello Kitty Glassware Lootsie totally won me over.
The disclaimer mentions that most of the lootsie items will be new or mint and some might be secondhand. All the items in my package were new as far as I could tell, still packed in a box or plastic and/or with tags.
Kaila provides a tracking number and pictures of the package when it’s shipped out. To be honest I was a little concerned because most of the items were made out of glass. But it was packed very well: she put a sturdy box inside another box and everything was carefully packed in bubble wraps. The package was shipped by EMS and it arrived within 2 days (!) at my doorstep with all the items intact. And while Catootje is catnapping inside the box, I’d like to show you what’s inside:
Isn’t this collection of Hello Kitty Anniversary kitchenware the cutest? I really like the fact that it’s made out of glass, since it’s safer to keep food or liquids in (v.s. plastic). Also I’m in love with this print! It shows Hello Kitty and accessories in her ‘younger’ years as I know her from my childhood.
This glass would be great to hold desserts as well, in this picture it contains coconut rice drink (which tastes surprisingly good).
The package came with 2 square plates and one limited ceramic Lawson 40th Anniversary plate. It was part of a campaign and not for sale, so I’m happy to have it at home. Other items were part of a Puroland campaign and came with special recipes (that I might have to try ^_^).
But wait there’s more!
A kawaii oven glove with bows, tiny bag, kitty container and mold. The mold can be used to make icecubes, chocolates or candy and fits right into my every growing collection of cute bakeware.
Freebies and verdict
Each Kawaii Lootsie will come with extra toy freebies. In my package I found a cute personal note and some Japanese chocolate treats! Kaila must have suspected that I’m a chocoholic and I can’t wait to try these out ^_^ (it’s a miracle that they are in fact still unharmed). Domo Arigato!
The total of my Lootsie would be $135 including economy shipping. It looks like a hefty price tag, but comes down to about $10 per Hello Kitty item on average. Which I think is a fair price given the fact that all of them were limited and Kaila provided a great service.
The Kawaii Lover Me Store has just opened her doors and Kaila is still working on adding content. At the moment you can find Sukajan jackets, Randoseru backpacks, kawaii plushes & toys and more authentic items inside.
